YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Portal Technical Service General Supervisor, you will be part of the Near Surface Department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Bridge long and short term mine planning initiatives to identify opportunities for process optimization, technology adoption, and innovation to enhance operational performance;
  • Utilizing project management best practices, assist in the scoping, design, risk and financial analysis, change and implementation of major projects related to the Portal Project;
  • Working with long term planning team, review, de-risk and optimize the long term plan to ensure the seamless integration into the short term mine plan;
  • Review all activities associated with production planning and work with the Senior Mine Planner on development optimization;
  • Train and mentor department personnel as directed in the development of robust and achievable production targets including design, execution and performance analysis;
  • Provide support to internal and external Technical Service teams when required;
  • Integrate mine data as required with the long term planning team to ensure robust estimates are utilized for budgeting and scenario requirements;
  • Fill in for the General Supervisor when required;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • B.Sc / B.Tech Degree in Mining Engineering or Qualifications;
  • Minimum of 7 year’s relevant experience in an operating mine;
  • Experience in underground Hard Rock Mining Environment preferred;
  • Experience in underground surveying, planning and/or mining an asset;
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
