Primary Responsibilities

Business Management: Forecasting & Reporting
  • Lead the strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and management accounting/reporting process.
  • Lead the preparation of Campbell Canada’s yearly budget and interim forecasts.
  • Review, advise & propose solutions to the management team on budgetary requirements to meet annual targets.
  • Prepare executive level presentations that communicate business unit strategy and financial performance.
  • Drive business results and & decision making in monthly Integrated Business Planning process.
Strategic decision analytic support
  • Provides leadership support and coordination for new strategic initiatives (supply chain strategy, pricing, trade management, margin enhancements, sales support and marketing plans)
  • Provide strategic leadership in diagnosing business issues and proposing solutions that support the strategy
  • Develop and analyze business models to project and recommend business financials and return on investment (ROI).
  • Execute special projects which require significant financial or operational oversight
  • Identify and facilitate continuous improvement projects through systems, processes & ways of working
Drive Business Results & Strategic Planning
  • Collaborate with the Canadian Senior Leadership Team in shaping the Canadian strategy within the broader Campbell Meals & Beverages division.
  • Lead the development of Canadian finance strategies and execute local initiatives that drive successful business results that are aligned to divisional & corporate priorities.
  • Monitor and communicate Risks & Opportunities & their impact to Campbell Canada in order to lead strategy for closing any gaps to plan.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to peers to ensure strong financial oversight by the Canadian leadership team.
  • Participate in the management of the Canadian business as a member of the Canadian Senior Leadership Team “CSLT” through:
  • Setting organizational goals, objectives, financial targets and priorities
  • Approving and aligning strategic and operational plans
  • Allocating necessary resources
  • Leading, communicating and engaging employees in the organization’s purpose, vision, strategy and goals
Accounting & Regulatory compliance
  • Review the organization’s financial activities to ensure they are properly accounted for in accordance with legislative requirements and financial controls/requirements (i.e. SOX 404).
  • Provide guidance to the Controller to ensure that internal and accounting controls are in place to protect Canadian assets.
  • Oversee cash flow and optimize programs to manage inventory control to support customer needs, balance sheet targets and mitigate inventory risk.
  • In partnership with Global Treasury, manage the Canadian treasury organization’s currency strategy.
  • In partnership with Global Tax, oversees the preparation and lodgment of all tax filings and coordinate tax planning initiatives.
  • Serves as Chair of the Canadian Pension Committee and acts on behalf of Campbell Company of Canada on all corporate matters (filing, board meetings, etc.).
Functional Finance Leadership
  • Provide leadership & development opportunities to a collaborative and diverse finance team including direct & matrix reports for key areas of Finance including Brand, Customer, Supply Chain, Planning, Reporting & Tax.
  • Define, build and nurture a finance team culture that supports the strategy and demonstrates the values of the organization
  • Develop & carry out training to further the business management skills of the Canadian organization
  • Collaborates and work closely with the broader Campbell Meals & Beverage Leadership team, local Canadian Senior Leadership team and the Finance Leadership team to drive synergies across the marketplace and leverage best practices.
  • Lead collaboration & partnership with all teams across the division & global Finance organization.
  • Key finance business partner to all functional leads in Canadian business (Vice President Sales, Vice President Marketing, Vice President Human Resources, Director Research & Development, Director Supply Chain & Vice President and General Manager of Canada)
  • Manage foreign currency exposure and impact to the Canadian profit and loss (P&L) via partnership with Global Treasury
  • Lead a diverse finance team (#11 members) with direct and matrix reports including talent reviews and continued development towards a high performing team
  • Remote functional reporting line manager with local matrix reporting line manager
Minimum Requirements

Education:

Bachelors Business Degree, MBA preferred

Experience:
  • 10+/15 years financial or operational analysis experience
5 years of experience in managing people * Significant experience in North American markets required (Canadian preferred)
  • Experience in a management role in a medium to large multi-national consumer package goods company preferred
Certifications:

Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

Working Conditions
