Senior Leader - Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

As a senior leader in our Finance & Operations Team, we will ask our Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to have the business agility to lead and oversee the enterprise financial management system and all aspects of financial planning and analysis for the enterprise and operations.

Our Director will be the subject matter expert in relation to financial planning & analysis, management reporting, enterprise management systems and business partnership with a focus on driving targeted outcomes. They will need to exhibit a continuous improvement mindset that develops and implements innovative and strategic process changes that drive efficiencies, timely accuracy of information and increased productivity for the benefit of our operating departments and organization. The Director will need to be a natural leader rallying all team members to achieve common corporate goals and come together as one.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Create, coordinate and lead the enterprise management system (including gaining alignment of stakeholders/leadership & colleagues)
  2. Codify standard operating procedure documents, including checklists and schedules that will be used to govern processes that ensure consistent and thorough completion of recurring deliverables
  3. Create, maintain, and improve models and presentations for the month-end results reviews, forecasting models, annual budget and long-range planning processes, ensuring quality, timeliness, and accuracy
  4. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI's) for the business, including analyzing financial performance against industry benchmarks, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency
  5. Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, controls, and automation of reporting and forecasting tasks, including working with IT on automated dashboards to distribute results
  6. Lead management system for capital spend, investment review (business case development) and capital allocation
  7. Execute information and analysis requests from business partners with thorough, organized and fact-based work product supporting key observations, assumptions and conclusions
  8. Develop business cases that clearly communicate the ROI of initiatives; provide creative insights, implications, and recommendations about current and future financial trends and areas for improvement, focus or investment
  9. Conduct cost-savings analysis and ensure that commercial/growth ambition is balanced with effective and rigorous cost management
Key Success Factors

10+ years of progressive finance experience in a combination of operations and financial planning and analysis roles

BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field preferred

CPA, CFA and/or MBA an asset

Strong leadership to influence senior leaders of the organization and work with peers in finance and across the organization to manage the financial performance of the business

Excellent decision-making and change-management skills

Strong analytical skills to dissect large financial data sets

Advanced communication skills and ability to develop executive friendly presentations
