Systems Engineer – Anti-Submarine Warfare Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) is the leading combat system integrator (CSI) for advanced, large-scale integration projects in Canada. We leverage advanced engineering practices and modern technologies to design, develop, and integrate combat systems for warships. We are looking for motivated, high-performing individuals with specific skills to join our dynamic Naval Programs team.
The Naval Programs team is responsible for technical planning, design, construction, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, sustainment analysis, and overall system effectiveness. As part of a total system product development, involvement spans: design, manufacturing, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. The team ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into overall system solutions that consider technical, financial, and time constraints.
The Naval Programs team is present at Lockheed Martin's main project locations in Canada (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth); job opportunities are available at all these locations to support naval combat system programs and proposal capture activities.
As a Systems Engineer and member of the Naval Development team working in a multidisciplinary team environment, the candidate participates in the full engineering lifecycle including specification, design, development, integration and testing, deployment, maintenance, and field troubleshooting in connection with large-scale, highly complex naval platform systems.
The candidate will participate in engineering activities that may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
- Collaborate on anti-submarine warfare system design activities with the lead systems engineer and other engineering staff, such as supporting technical reviews
- Perform needs analyses
- Conduct market studies
- Review requirements, their allocation, and market studies
- Analyze system data from suppliers, including, but not limited to, interface information, technical specifications, and technical drawings

Required skills, abilities, and experience
- The incumbent must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, hardware, or systems engineering.
- Relevant professional experience of at least two (2) to five (5) years. Any equivalent combination of experience and studies will be considered.
- Experience with software, systems, hardware, or maintenance engineering lifecycle
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel on the engineering and management team, as well as with personnel assigned to related tasks.

- Experience in the integration of anti-submarine warfare systems, such as sonars, torpedoes, etc.
- Experience with Agile methods
- Experience in the military naval domain
- Experience in change management, requirements management, testing and trials, security, safety, electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic compatibility, or environmental qualification.
Language requirements in Quebec
Knowledge of English is required for this position so that the candidate can perform all of their duties. The position described in this job offer requires the candidate to communicate daily with a virtual team outside Quebec. The candidate will also need to communicate with various members of the organization, clients, and suppliers located outside Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.
