Job Description

As a Tax Compliance Specialist, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare Canadian and US tax returns
  • Collect and organize additional supporting documentation or responses to tax authority notices and decisions
  • Identify outstanding information on files and reach out to clients and practice staff as required
  • Work with client engagement team as necessary to complete work assignments
  • File Canadian and U.S. Tax returns

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in relevant undergraduate degree in business, accounting or related field
  • Experience with accounting or financial services; prior tax preparation experience of Canadian and US tax and/or bookkeeping or other related accounting functions would be an asset
  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
  • A strong grasp of technology including Microsoft Office and an aptitude for excel, complex calculation
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure without compromising professional standards or quality of works and data analysis
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate and manage expectations with clients
  • Demonstrated self‑motivation and a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and development
  • Vialto Value Network (VVN) services all Canadian time zones, therefore business hours will vary and overtime is required

Additional Information

  • Please note this is a 3-6 month full-time contract opportunity, starting from Jan 2027 (with the possibility of extension).
  • Tax Compliance team members work on a hybrid schedule, in office 2‑3 days per week - (mandatory training in the office)
  • Hourly rate range for this position is CAD $22.50-$25.50
