Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:The Controller is responsible for supporting both the Department Leader and the Assistant Department Leader by overseeing all Finance functions. The Controller is expected to maintain adherence to the Magna Minimum Controls and is responsible for employees in finance and accounting functions. The Controller will have excellent presentation, motivational and team building skills and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a positive attitude.

POSITION SALARY$125,000
- $155,000 CAD AnnuallyThis range reflects only the base salary and does not include other components of our total compensation package, such as bonuses, the Continuous Improvement Program, GRRSP Matching, MBC Program, and other variable benefits.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Must poses a CPA.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
Experience with integrated financial / manufacturing software packages and SAP.
DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to Magna Minimum Controls GuidelinesProvide future development/direction for department (continuously improve processes).
Safeguard all financial documents and keep all financial matters private and confidential.
Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger accounting system.
Protect the assets of the company by continual review and awareness of internal control issues, with appropriate recommendations for improvements.
Ensure SOX guidelines are adhered to.
Analyze and approve all general ledger reconciliations to ensure compliance with both internal and external audit tests as required.
Analyze and present month end financial statement package to senior leadershipAnalyze monthly actual results compared to budget and forecast. Investigate variances and make recommendations to improve operations.
Prepare periodic reports for management and corporate requests.
Ensure an accurate cost tracking and allocation system for the plant is maintained. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the costing and inventory systems.
Ensure proper approval, recognition, tracking and safeguarding of capital assets.
Monitor accounts receivable/payable ensuring that all amounts are collected/paid on a timely basis.
Ensure the timely and accurate payment of all payroll and related benefits.
Oversee the recognition of tool revenue/expense/profit.
Oversee the preparation of the annual financial budget, 7-year plan and monthly forecasts.
Ensure all department deliverables meet the required deadlines.
Liaison with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and complete year end working papers.
Be involved in ongoing continuous improvement efforts, to improve timeliness and accuracy of information reporting, and minimize the use of company resources.
Establish and ensure the Formet Business Plan and Departmental Goals and Objectives are met (People, Investor, Customer)Develop and support departmental succession plans.
Develop programs for record retention, continuous improvement, build standards and job training.
Participate in the creation and implementation of clearly defined rules of conduct and communications.
Lead the Finance team and ensure their development by monitoring their performance, providing feedback, mentoring and coaching.
Attend meetings with Department Leaders, Steering Team, and extended Steering Team.
Perform other duties as designated.
