Flash Forest is seeking a seasoned, dynamic, results-driven sales executive with a track record of closing high-value contracts under aggressive timelines. This individual will lead Flash Forest's revenue growth, specializing in securing government reforestation contracts and large-scale forestry agreements across North America. This role requires a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, advocate for emerging technologies, and drive adoption of innovative solutions—even when policy frameworks are lagging behind technology readiness.

This is a pivotal, senior-level role—tasked with designing and executing a structured, managed sales process from the ground up and ensuring Flash Forest remains at the forefront of reforestation-automation.

Compensation

Base salary for this role ranges from $170K to $190K CAD. This role includes a competitive stock option package and a lucrative OTE structure, designed to reward high performance and align with company growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a high-velocity sales strategy, targeting forestry operators, government agencies, and environmental organizations with a focus on securing large-scale contracts.
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales cycle, from market segmentation to lead generation to contract close, ensuring multi-million, multi-year revenue opportunities are maximized.

Strategic Partnerships & Alliances

  • Build and maintain high-impact relationships with forestry agencies, government procurement teams, and corporate sustainability leaders to drive contract wins in post-harvest and wildfire reclamation, direct seeding, and aerial seeding projects.
  • Formulate a partnership roadmap that aligns with Flash Forest's growth objectives, product readiness level, including international expansion and new market entry.

Revenue Growth & Global Market Expansion

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, product, operations) to identify new revenue streams, especially in forestry and government contracts, and help refine product-market fit.
  • Develop multi-year sales forecasts and lead the organization toward revenue targets, monitoring performance against KPIs and adjusting strategy as necessary.
  • Drive penetration into new geographies and channels, leveraging their existing networks to expand market share.

Negotiation & Contract Management

  • Drive Flash Forest's expansion by aggressively securing high-value forestry agreements and government reforestation contracts in Canada and the U.S. Leverage existing networks and procurement channels to accelerate contract closures and secure multi-year funding agreements.
  • Successfully navigate procurement requirements, funding cycles, and regulatory barriers to ensure Flash Forest's solutions are adopted at scale.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of forestry market dynamics, competitor offerings, and policy/regulatory changes.
  • Translate market insights into actionable strategies, highlighting emerging opportunities or risks for Flash Forest's leadership team.
  • Advocate for Flash Forest's cutting-edge AI-powered reforestation planning tools, helping government and forestry clients adopt technology that improves decision-making—even when regulations lag behind innovation.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Regularly track, analyze, and present key performance indicators (KPIs), pipeline status, and forecasts to executive leadership and the board.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on process improvements, market strategy, and resource allocation.
  • Produce quarterly business reviews, highlighting major wins, challenges, and strategic adjustments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or sales leadership, preferably with startup experience.
  • Proven experience closing $10M+ in contracts with a strong ability to navigate procurement, grants, and public funding mechanisms. Experience with government contracts in forestry, conservation, or environmental services is ideal.
  • History of exceeding sales quotas with a focus on consultative selling.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex, scalable GTM strategies in a mission-driven or emerging technology context.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Forestry, Environmental Science or related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
  • Registered Professional Forester (Canada) or Certified Forester (USA) credential is a plus.
  • Existing relationships with key decision-makers in U.S. Forest Service, Natural Resources Canada, provincial/state forestry departments, and federal reforestation grant programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of forestry market ecosystems, and associated government and regulatory landscapes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; able to engage with executive-level stakeholders, government bodies, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical acumen to interpret market trends, perform robust financial analyses, and drive informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience mentoring.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to roll up sleeves in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, forecasting methodologies, and pipeline management best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills, with a consultative sales approach.
