THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE:
Reporting to the Donor Acquisition Manager, the Donor Acquisition Specialist is part of the Mass Marketing team, responsible for creating, planning and managing Direct Response Television (DRTV), and Digital/Telemarketing Lead Conversion campaigns in order to recruit new donors through online and (inbound and outbound) phone call conversion. This role will lead on the development and testing of new creative concepts and manage vendors to deliver on donor acquisition and income targets within DRTV and Lead Conversion, as well as identify and support additional channels and opportunities for organizational growth via donor acquisition where needed.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Work with the Donor Acquisition Manager to plan the annual budget and the acquisition strategy for each channel, with a focus on regular giving donors
- Manage vendors for both DRTV and Lead Conversion campaigns, covering creative development, media buying, call center management and reporting
- Attend and lead weekly work in progress meetings and monthly reviews with all vendors
- Lead on the creation and/or adaptation of new creativities and materials for television and conversion campaigns. This includes videos/films and telemarketing scripts for call center etc.
- Engage with SCI and other Save the Children members to share information and best practices, and identify new tests to implement
- Work with the Digital Fundraising Manager, Acquisition and external vendors to develop new Lead Conversion campaigns and optimize the digital experience for new and potential DRTV donors
- Collaborate with Mass Marketing colleagues to maximise donor retention and ensure a focus on high-quality donor acquisition
- Lead on training, supervision and monitoring of the phone call centers involved in conversion activities
- Conduct regular telemarketing call listening to ensure call quality and adherence to scripts
- Support negotiations and contracting with agencies, call centers and other service providers
- Brief and train colleagues and external stakeholders on all campaign activity and results, as and when required
- Engage with stakeholders from across the organisation to secure buy-in and approval for new creative concepts
- Conduct effective analysis, evaluate campaign progress based on data-driven decisions grounded in ROI metrics and pivot when needed to achieve goals
- Work with vendors and colleagues to monitor and analyze campaign performance and, if necessary, identify feasible corrective actions
- Identify new potential services and service providers for new and existing acquisition channels or to involve in test activities for the acquisition of new donors
- Stay up to date on professional standards, trends, and issues affecting this set of responsibilities, demonstrating continuous learning of the field
Qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing DRTV, Telemarketing and/or Lead Conversion fundraising campaigns, with an income-generating focus.
- Proven experience in managing external vendors to deliver results.
- Experience in the development, implementation and measurement of donor acquisition campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience of using data and evidence to inform decision making.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills for diverse audiences to build strong working relationships across cultural and organizational settings, both internally and externally. .
- Experience in International Development, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO/INGO), or other not-for-profit sectors is preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience for task execution of assigned objectives supported by proficiency with MS Office tools and relevant technologies. Ability to work under pressure within tight timelines to achieve SCC objectives. .
