Job Description:

As a Senior MTI Field Technician at SIRATI, you will play a vital role in ensuring quality control/quality assurance in various projects across the GTA and North of Barrie area. You will be responsible for conducting field inspections and testing activities, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with construction activities and perform geotechnical inspection and material testing for construction materials such as soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, etc.
  • Be well versed with geotechnical standards and good practices and have problem solving skills.
  • Conduct field inspections and testing activities according to relevant standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret test results, prepare technical reports, and provide recommendations for clients.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members and field technicians.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsive service delivery.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the MTI .
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations during fieldwork and laboratory activities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with demonstrated expertise in soil and construction materials testing methods and procedures.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Ontario is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and specifications, including OPSS, ASTM, CSA, and AASHTO.
  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment and procedures, as well as field inspection techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret test results accurately.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
