Afrika Outbound Board of DirectorsAfrika Outbound uses experiential learning and travel to bring people together through history, cultural connections, and shared stories. Our programs use Black/Afro‑Caribbean/African histories as a catalyst for community‑building and allyship across and beyond the diaspora.Mission & VisionMission: Help youth and young adults from marginalized communities fully flourish into pioneers of positive change through the exchange of perspectives and ideologies obtained through travel.Vision: Create a truly global world by removing the physical and invisible barriers surrounding outbound travel.Roles & CommitmentChair (1)Vice‑Chair (1)Treasurer (1)Secretary (1)Director at Large (1)Term length: One‑year term, renewable. Time commitment: 10‑15 hours per month. Board meetings are held monthly and virtually on Zoom the 2nd Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Committee meetings may vary in frequency.ResponsibilitiesServe at least monthly board meetings and committee meetings.Participate in fundraising, finance, and advocacy activities.Advise on program strategy, outreach, and partnership development.Support the organization’s strategic goals and ensure long‑term sustainability.QualificationsExperience in fundraising, government relations, financial management, nonprofit governance, marketing & communications, or youth programming.Deep interest in Afrocentric histories and/or youth programming and curriculum development.Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.Availability to commit 10‑15 hours per month.Representation from the community served is preferred; under 30 candidates are encouraged to apply.Application ProcessSubmit a bio (one or two paragraphs).Letter or video of interest addressing: why you want to join, relevant experience, and availability.Select the position(s) you are interested in (Chair, Vice‑Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Director at Large).Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a virtual interview by Zoom (45 minutes).To apply, select “Apply Now” at the top or bottom of the page or submit your application through our portal here. #J-18808-Ljbffr
