We are currently seeking a Division Manager to join our Survey Division to work out of our London office.MTE Consultants is a multidisciplinary engineering firm that has been shaping Ontario since 1985 with offices in Kitchener, Burlington, Toronto, London and Stratford. We collaborate with clients to enhance the communities where our friends, families, and neighbours live and work.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute annual business plans for London Survey GroupMonitor financial performance including revenue, gross margin and incomePrepare monthly status reports and meet regularly with the Director of the Survey SectorPromote effective team work within the division and facilitate resolution of issues/problemsOversee the delivery of projects working collaboratively with your team, clients and agenciesMentoring staff including conducting mid-year and annual performance reviewsMonitor team utilization as well as WIP, AR and write-downs and work with the team to address deficienciesCollaborate with Technical Practice leaders and others Division Managers to promote technical excellence, project management and consistency across the firmLead team of surveyors, engineers and technologists to deliver land survey and engineering projects including Reference Plans, Subdivision Plans, Plans of Condominium, Surveyor’s Real Property Reports, and other Plans of SurveyAssign project work and lead scheduling activitiesFoster relationships with our existing client and build relationships with new onesParticipate in the preparation of proposals and business development activitiesManage individual projectsOversee, prepare and review a variety of survey documentsProvide technical assistance and input on projects, for the purpose of ensuring delivery of a consistent, quality product to the clientProvide design and constructability feedback and suggestionsOther related duties, as assignedRequirementsA degree in Geomatics Engineering or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) preferredLicensed Ontario Land Surveyor with the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors is an asset but not required10 years+ in the Surveying industry with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing staff and creating/managing budgetsLeadership skills with strong focus on business processes and the ability to motivate, coach and mentor staffStrong knowledge of surveying and engineering principles and design standards;General familiarity with a broad field of engineering and surveying, and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fieldsUnderstanding of fiscal management and responsibility, business finance and contracts;Excellent time management and organizational skillsHigh level of integrity, confidentiality and accountabilityExcellent attention to detail and sound independent judgment and decision making skillsA well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, staff, and clients, and a “team player” approach to management, design and problem solvingWhat we offerYou’ll work on impactful projects, engaging in private and public development projects across London and beyond.
