Job Title Hospitalist Apply via Health Match BC Role and Facility Information Join our ‘Community Hospital Inpatient Physician’ (CHIP) team at West Coast General Hospital (WCGH). Full‑time or part‑time positions are available. The hospital fosters a collaborative team‑based environment focused on maximizing patient safety, championing culturally safe care and practicing trauma‑informed care. In this role CHIP team members will act as MRP care for unattached & unassigned inpatients to the Family Practice service at WCGH. Duties include rounding on inpatients to the service, arranging service transfers and inter‑facility repatriations, discharge planning and responding to urgent calls for admitted patients under this service. Responsibilities Serve as MRP care for unattached & unassigned inpatients to the Family Practice service at WCGH. Round on inpatients, arrange service transfers, inter‑facility repatriations, discharge planning, and respond to urgent calls for admitted patients. Attend and participate at the daily structured team report, support allied teams in hospital and community settings. Provide in‑person, virtual or telephone patient handovers at discharge to primary community practitioners. Provide consult services to on‑site ambulatory clinics, including Medical Day Care. Offer virtual outreach consult services to rural health sites and rural and remote Indigenous communities. Provide on‑site MRP services daily between 0700‑2200, 52 weeks a year, including statutory holidays. During weekdays 1700‑2200, cover all inpatients with Family Practitioners as MRP and respond to NH calls if Primary Care Physician is unreachable. Evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders. Compensation Type: Clinical Service Contract Estimated Remuneration: Service Agreement Benefits and Incentives Retention Premium 7.98% Retention Flat Fee $12,367 Relocation Funding available up to $15,000 Recruitment Incentive up to $10,000 Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum in year 3&4, increasing to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years.
