CSG Talent are looking for Environment and Sustainability Manager for the Canadian major producer of aggregates-based construction materials including asphalt and ready-mixed concrete.


Responsibilities included:

- Lead the preparation and submission of operational permitting applications, conduct environmental impact assessments, organize stakeholder and public consultations, and engage in community consultations to develop new reserves and establish material business facilities.

- Prepare and manage all environmental permits, reports, and associated requirements for facilities.

- Oversee due diligence processes and environmental assessments for land acquisitions and divestitures.

- Analyze the impacts of current and emerging environmental regulations at Federal, Provincial, County, Municipality, and City levels on business operations.

- Promote continuous improvement in environmental systems, programs, and strategies, advocating for environmental best practices across all facilities.

- Collaborate with Corporate and Operational management to ensure the effective implementation, integration, and success of standards, programs, and initiatives.

- Collect relevant environmental compliance data and prepare necessary reports.

- Track and report all corporate-required metrics supporting Sustainability Goals.

- Identify environmental and sustainability issues requiring capital expenditure, assist in preparing capital approval requests, and lead the implementation of selected solutions.

- Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures, including the implementation of corporate guidelines, completion of necessary training, and monitoring compliance.

- Provide guidance and training to all organizational levels to ensure environmentally responsible behavior and compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and legislation.

- Conduct site inspections and audits, providing recommendations and ensuring follow-up on corrective actions.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or a combination of training and experience in Environmental Management or a related field.

- Field experience in industrial settings is an asset.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations.

- Effective problem-solving and written/oral communication skills.

- Experience with negotiating and uniting stakeholders to foster positive change and build strong relationships.

- Proficiency in using and implementing online management and reporting systems.

- Ability to travel throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba as needed.
