The Business Analyst – Mortgage Origination supports both the wholesale channel (Sequence Capital) and the direct-to-borrower channel (Alpine Credits) across a national mortgage platform. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role also maintains dotted line relationships to the Director of Business Optimization and the Director of Sales for Alpine Credits, as well as the VP Sales and Operations for Sequence Capital.The Business Analyst partners closely with management teams to deliver performance analytics, Salesforce reporting, KPI development, operational insights, and process optimizations. This role enables a combined team of approximately 50 sales professionals—including Financial Solutions Specialists, Alpine Brokers, Sequence Brokers, and broker-facing Business Development Managers (BDMs) for Sequence Capital by transforming data into actionable insights that drive business growth and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Performance Analytics & ReportingDevelop and maintain KPI dashboards, performance scorecards, and reporting packages for both Sequence Capital (wholesale) and Alpine Credits (retail) origination teams.Analyze broker pipeline activity, funded volumes, approval ratios, and conversion metrics alongside Alpine Credits lead handling, call-to-application ratios, and sales productivity.Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance analysis comparing targets vs. actual results for each channel.Prepare executive-ready analytics and presentations that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for the COO, senior leadership, and other dotted line managers.Salesforce & Systems ManagementBuild and optimize Salesforce dashboards, reports, and workflows tailored to the needs of Sequence Brokers, Alpine Brokers, and operations teams.Partner with Salesforce administrators and IT to ensure data integrity, implement enhancements, and streamline end-to-end origination processes.Recommend and implement automation, validation rules, and workflow efficiencies that reduce manual steps and support scalability.Operational Efficiency & Channel SupportIdentify bottlenecks and inefficiencies unique to the Sequence Capital broker process (submission quality, turnaround times, broker segmentation).Support the Alpine Credits channel by analyzing call flows, lead conversion strategies, and Alpine Broker productivity.Collaborate with origination leaders to refine performance measurement frameworks, incentive metrics, and channel-specific KPIs.Develop standardized reporting tools that align both channels while allowing for channel-specific insights.Data Storytelling & Strategic InsightsConvert complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for use in Executive discussions, channel strategy sessions, and quarterly business reviews.Provide proactive insights that help origination leaders improve Sequence broker engagement, strengthen Alpine Credits sales productivity, and optimize resource allocation.Support the COO, Director of Business Optimization, Director of Sales (Alpine Credits), and VP Sales and Operations (Sequence Capital) by preparing concise, clear, insight-driven summaries of operational performance and strategic priorities.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork with sales leadership, underwriting, marketing, finance, and compliance to ensure alignment on performance metrics and reporting methodologies across both channels.Partner with marketing to assess campaign effectiveness and lead quality for Alpine Credits acquisition.Act as a trusted partner to Sequence Brokers, BDMs, broker managers, and Alpine Brokers by providing data-informed support to drive channel growth.Qualifications:Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, or related field.3–5+ years of experience in business analysis, sales operations, or mortgage analytics.Strong hands-on Salesforce experience (reports, dashboards, workflows).Experience in financial services, mortgage lending, or broker-focused businesses strongly preferred.Technical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in Salesforce reporting and dashboard creation.Strong Excel capabilities (pivot tables, power query, formulas).Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is advantageous.CompetenciesStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Effective communicator capable of simplifying complex data for diverse audiences.Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working with senior leadership.Key Performance Indicators for This RoleTimeliness and accuracy of Sequence Capital and Alpine Credits channel-specific performance reporting.Improved visibility and efficiency of Salesforce reporting for Sequence Brokers and Alpine Brokers.Contribution to increased conversion rates and productivity across both channels.Effectiveness of insights delivered to the COO, Director of Business Optimization, Director of Sales (Alpine Credits), and VP Sales and Operations (Sequence Capital).Reduction in process bottlenecks and improved operational efficiency.
