Aircraft Mechanic

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and supporting a newly acquired fleet of C-130 Hercules aircraft. You perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, repairs, and modifications on C-130 airframes and systems, ensuring each aircraft remains safe, reliable, and mission-ready. You diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, propulsion, and avionics issues, complete accurate maintenance documentation, and collaborate closely with flight operations and maintenance teams in both line and heavy maintenance environments. You consistently follow maintenance manuals, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures to uphold the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul on C-130 Hercules aircraft and associated systems.
  • Conduct detailed inspections, repairs, and modifications on C-130 structures, systems, powerplants, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, propulsion, and avionics-related discrepancies.
  • Carry out component removal, installation, testing, servicing, and functional checks in accordance with approved maintenance data.
  • Support aircraft return-to-service activities in both line maintenance and heavy maintenance environments.
  • Ensure airworthiness by strictly complying with maintenance manuals, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
  • Complete maintenance records, logs, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with flight operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to maintain aircraft reliability, safety, and mission readiness.
  • Participate in heavy maintenance, depot-level inspections, and structural modification programs as required.
  • Support flight-line operations, including engine runs and aircraft towing, within approved qualifications and procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory standards while working in hangar, flight line, and remote operational environments.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet maintenance schedules and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying maintenance issues and recommending corrective actions or process improvements.

Essential Skills

  • 5–10 years of hands‑on C-130 Hercules maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, powerplants, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proven experience performing line maintenance, heavy maintenance, or depot‑level maintenance on transport‑category aircraft.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, propulsion, and avionics systems.
  • Experience with C-130H and/or C-130J aircraft platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented, safety‑focused environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain applicable security clearances and to work in Canada.
  • A&P license and/or AME M License (or equivalent aircraft maintenance engineer/mechanic certification).
  • Demonstrated ability to follow maintenance manuals, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing maintenance records and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in military, OEM, MRO, or special mission aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience with aerial firefighting tank systems and related mission equipment.
  • Hands‑on exposure to heavy maintenance checks, depot‑level inspections, and structural modification programs.
  • Qualifications or experience in flight‑line operations, including engine runs and aircraft towing.
  • Experience with Global Express aircraft.
  • Experience with Boeing 737, including classic 300 series.
  • Prior work in line maintenance and troubleshooting environments.
  • Comfort working in varied operational locations across Canada.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with motivated, diverse teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toronto, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
