To optimally deliver products as per defined schedule and allocated resources whilst always ensuring compliance with minimum legal safety, quality and operational standards.


Responsibilities:


Enabled and compliant plant delivery

  • Ensure that the resources allocated (people, process and material) are optimally utilized as expected to meet their daily/weekly targets.
  • Optimize the plant performance by recruiting qualified, well-trained and experienced resources within agreed budget parameters.
  • Plan, organize and enable the production/plant team to ensure that all required skills and tools/other resources are available as and when required to meet the target/schedule.
  • To ensure that the training plans are implemented and managed for all team members in line with the plant’s day-to-day deliverables.
  • Accountable for operational excellence through focused management and measurable performance metrics.
  • Production planning, quality control and managing inventory of raw material inputs.


Plant Safety and Security

  • Proactively work to achieve compliance with safety systems and ensure a safe workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSEQ Performance Standards and site security program.
  • Actively audits on-site safety in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.


Optimal task/plant process performance

  • To ensure proactive management of the resources provided to maximize operational efficiencies of the production processes and ensure continuous improvement in raw materials, consumables, energy and water, human resources, time utilization, etc.
  • Performs Critical Control Verifications (CCV) and Safety System Shut Down (SSS) checks.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.


Advantageous Requirements:


  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in utilizing modern production process controls such as PLC and SCADA.
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in fault finding on automation processes.


Experience:


  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in the manufacturing and production of explosives within a mining or resources industry
  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in the applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and quality
  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in people management


Job-Related Skills:


  • Working knowledge of production and quality control principles.
  • Ability to interpret, analyse and use complex technical data and error or warning messages.
  • Ability to reference and interpret technical operating manuals, specifications drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks and consistently meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Ability to grasp the application and functioning of new technology.
  • Able to respond positively to changing requirements and pressures.
  • Ability to communicate technical details with all stakeholders, service providers, and management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and quality
  • Physically fit and energetic with sober habits.
