As is doing great work, working with great people, and having fun.Senior PlannerWe’re searching for an experienced, thoughtful, self-motivated individual with a thorough understanding of the development approvals process in Ontario.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide strategic direction to a diverse team of planners and urban designers within our development planning practice. Responsibilities may include:Manages the preparation and submission of official plan and zoning by-law amendments, site plan approval, draft plan of condominium / subdivision and Committee of Adjustment applications;Provides planning evidence in support of Ontario Land Tribunal and Toronto Local Appeal Body hearings;Prepares and leads the development of due diligence reviews, highest and best use studies, master plans, planning justification reports and consultation strategies;Builds positive relationships with clients, municipal staff, review agencies and consultant teams;Attends and presents at public consultation meetings and events;Monitors competitive bidding opportunities and contributes to go / no-go decisions;Manages project work plans, schedules and budgets;Represents the firm at professional networking, industry events, including providing guest lectures and presentations;Mentors and empowers team members; and,Hybrid (a minimum 3 days / week in office).QualificationsBachelor or Master Degree in Urban and Regional Planning;Four (4) to seven (7) years of relevant and full-time professional experience; Candidate for full membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and/or Canadian Institute of Planners;Demonstrated professional skills, including: o  Understanding of the development approvals process in Ontario; o  Understanding of planning legislation, policies, regulations and best practices; o  Strong written and oral communication; o  Organization and time management; o  Judgement and creative problem-solving; and, o  Working independently and in a team-based setting.Proficiency in report and presentation software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite software (InDesign);Ability to perform effectively in a hybrid work environment; and,Commitment to thought leadership, innovation and collaboration.AssetsMaster Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline;Full membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and/or Canadian Institute of Planners;Professional certifications, including LEED AP and PMP;Valid Ontario Driver's License.Application RequirementsTo apply, please send a cover letter and resume to careers@sajeckiplanning.com.
