Position SummaryWe are seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Control team at our Hagersville facility. This role supports daily quality control activities, including chemical and microbiological testing, to help ensure food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance in a regulated dairy manufacturing environment.This position is ideal for individuals with a strong attention to detail and a technical background who are interested in working in a laboratory setting and contributing directly to food safety and quality assurance.Key Responsibilities:Prepare samples, media, and buffers used for daily laboratory analysisPerform chemical and microbiological testing of dairy products Generate accurate and reliable test results in accordance with established proceduresConduct product sampling and environmental / equipment swabbingComplete reports and computer data entry to maintain accurate quality recordsCalibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipmentMaintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratoryWork closely with Production teams on sanitation, hygiene, GMPs, and related trainingMonitor and support Quality, Food Safety, and SQF systemsComplete assigned tasks in a timely and organized mannerPerform other duties as assigned by Quality SupervisorKey Qualifications:Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the food industry preferredBachelor of Science degree or post-secondary diploma in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, or Quality AssuranceKnowledge of microbiological procedures and aseptic techniquesWorking knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, allergens, and food securityStrong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and problem-solving skillsProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to support supplier-related documentation requests (packaging and ingredients), as needed, while maintaining priority on laboratory responsibilities.Flexibility to adjust work hours based on production needs, including occasional weekend workOwn transportation and ability to commute to the Hagersville facilityWhy Join UsCompetitive group insurance, RRSP, and DPSP programs.Paid vacation and comprehensive health benefits.Opportunity to be part of a collaborative and dynamic team.Join a growing organization with a strong and proven track record of success.InclusivityAt Hewitt’s Dairy Ltd., we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered.
