What is the Opportunity?
ONxpress Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) department has an immediate need in the Downtown Toronto office for a GIS Specialist, who will foster GIS innovation within the company. This position will report to the IDD GIS Lead and will work closely with the other IDD GIS Specialists, IDD coordinators and project teams to provide GIS technical expertise.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Work with IDD Team, GIS lead and GIS team cohesively to design and effectively deploy geospatial solutions for the Go Expansion project.
- Independently organize, conceptualize and conduct large, advanced spatial analyses.
- Develop and support web GIS applications using Esri Web App Builder, Hub, Operations Dashboards, Experience Builder, Story Maps, Collector, Survey123 within ArcGIS Enterprise system.
- Contribute to the development of fundamental project GIS data sets which project decisions will be based on.
- Create maps, 3D scenes, databases, and other deliverables for simultaneously ongoing project needs on short notice.
- Contribute to the creation of a project wide 3D digital twin.
- Site travel may be required 20% of the time within Ontario (mostly GTA).
- Perform other duties as needed.
What you will bring to the team:
- Post secondary degree/diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, computer science or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience and knowledge working with Esri GIS applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, etc).
- Performs all aspects of GIS activities associated with creating, managing, editing, mapping, and analyzing spatial data.
- Advanced knowledge of GIS geoprocessing tools, problem solving, and sharing project data.
- High data organization standards performing rigorous quality control/quality assurance practices for all GIS data created (cleaned attribute tables, configured popups, appropriate symbology, following naming conventions, etc).
- Willingness to learn and advance GIS and relevant skillsets.
- Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Be a GIS liaison between various project teams, teaching users the capabilities of GIS.
- Strong organizational, time management, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar working with REVIT, and CAD software and data (DWG, DGN, RVT files).
- Knowledge of python, arcade, Java Script, FME, SQL, HTML, Esri model builder an asset but not required.
