Dease Lake is a small community of about 400 residents, located just a few hours south of the Yukon border. It serves as a common stop for fuel, food, and a rest break during long road trips. Despite its remoteness, Dease Lake offers amenities including a K-12 school, a Northern Lights College Campus, government services, police and fire hall, and various businesses. The Stikine region, encompassing 153,600 sq. km., is renowned for its pristine wilderness and is home to the Stikine River, one of North America's last free-flowing wilderness rivers. The area's economy is primarily driven by mining, with guiding outfits supporting hunting and fishing activities.We are open to covering shifts of any length, from weekends to several weeks or months, depending on interest.Flights into Dease Lake can be arranged from Vancouver, Prince George, Nanaimo, Calgary, Kelowna, Smithers, and Kamloops.Qualifications:Call Schedule:Hours of work: No details provided.On-call requirements: 24-hour shifts.Compensation:The minimum daily rate is $1,658, up to approximately $3,078 per day.RSA IncentivesFor the rural GP locum program, the minimum daily rate is $1,658, with all travel and accommodation covered. On-call locums receive additional REEF ($257-$504 per day, weekday versus weekend) and MOCAP ($436-$616 per day, weekday versus weekend).Total daily payment on weekdays on call is approximately $2,751, and on weekends, approximately $3,078. Clinic days when not on call pay around $1,658.Stikine Health Centre:Serving a population of 2,000, the Stikine Health Centre provides emergency services, with about 1,200 ER visits annually.
