Structures Aircraft Maintenance Engineer


We are looking for a Structures Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our team in our Maintenance department. Custom Helicopters Ltd. provides helicopter support to clients for various applications, while providing high-quality services with a commitment to safety, quality, and value.


Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Structures Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures to ensure airworthiness, including addressing corrosion damage and following repair procedures. The Structures AME works well under pressure and demonstrates excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and perform structural repairs and modifications as needed to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft in accordance with approved repair/modification procedures.
  • Identify and repair corrosion damage.
  • Read and interpret structural repair/modification drawing.
  • Follow Structural Repair Manual to design and implement repairs.
  • Assemble and fit parts.
  • Repair, replace, and modify metal and composite structures.
  • Fabricate sheet metal parts.
  • Select and use appropriate materials for metal and composite repairs.
  • Document all maintenance activities and update aircraft maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance engineers and technicians to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Stay current on industry trends and developments related to structural maintenance techniques and technologies.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License with an S rating.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structures and materials
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Operate hand, air, and power tools from floor to above shoulders.
  • Ability to stand on concrete and asphalt for extended periods; bend, stoop, kneel, and climb to perform various tasks; and climb ladders and scaffolding to access parts of aircraft.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced and safety sensitive environment.
  • Ability to travel, both domestic and international, on short notice.

The successful candidate must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, have a valid Driver’s License and Passport. Must provide own tools.
