Position Overview

Bell Media is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Distribution Services Technician to join our Distribution Services team. This critical operational role supports the delivery of live and recorded content across satellite, IP, SRT, streaming, and broadcast platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, routing, troubleshooting, and coordinating content distribution to internal stakeholders, broadcast partners, and external customers in a 24/7 operational environment. As part of a specialized team supporting Bell Media's broadcast and digital platforms, including TSN+, Crave, and conventional television services, you will help ensure the reliable delivery of high-profile live events, news programming, sports broadcasts, and other business-critical content. Key Responsibilities

Monitor and manage incoming and outgoing satellite feeds and SRT streams Coordinate feed bookings and transmission schedules with broadcasters, affiliates, partners, and service providers Route signals through broadcast infrastructure, including routers, encoders, decoders, and transmission systems Verify signal quality, video standards, audio levels, and transmission integrity Troubleshoot transmission issues and operational incidents, escalating where required Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and incident documentation Communicate effectively with Master Control, Engineering, Production, customers, and remote broadcast facilities Configure and operate satellite reception, IP distribution, and transmission equipment Support disaster recovery procedures and contingency operations Participate in ongoing technology transitions involving IP-based workflows, SRT transport, streaming technologies, HDR, HEVC, and advanced content delivery solutions Required Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Electronics, Media Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced live broadcast environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining operational accuracy Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays in a 24/7 operation Preferred Qualifications

Experience with satellite transmission systems Experience with IP-based media transport technologies, including SRT Familiarity with broadcast routing systems, encoders, decoders, and signal monitoring tools Knowledge of media compression standards and codecs, including HEVC/MPEG Experience supporting live sports, news, or special event broadcasts Understanding of streaming workflows and adaptive bitrate delivery technologies What You'll Bring
