Our values of care, trust, courage, and sustainability foster a sense of belonging and guide our decisions and actions.The OpportunityThe Claims Analyst holds a high level of responsibility, performing a range of functions for the Claims department with respect to reinsurance exposure management of member segment casualty, automobile and property claims, as well as acting as liaison between the member companies and the reinsurance intermediary. Further responsibilities may also include oversight of cedant’s claims within our broker distribution channel. The job is hybrid and may involve travel, particularly for member and cedent visits and audits. As the successful candidate, you will:Examine, record, and report on new claims information, assess exposure, calculate claim reserves, and prepare claim summary details on reportable inward and outward reinsurance claimsExamine, monitor, prepare, and evaluate correspondence and information received on claims from, member companies, reinsurers and broker channel cedantsCalculate, compile, assess, and adjust claim reserves, and request status reports on claim activityReview and verify claims submitted are in accordance with Reinsurance contractual agreements and approve claim paymentsReview reinsurance contracts and agreements to understand the terms, conditions, and obligations related to claim payments and recoveriesLiaise with reinsurance brokers, member companies and broker channel cedants to obtain information and ensure communication and resolution of all claim issuesConduct claim file reviews to identify trends and areas of opportunityPrepare and generate reports on claims status, claims trends, and financial impact for management and other interested partiesYour Skills and QualificationsSolid technical knowledge 7+ years of prior related casualty claims experienceExperience handling and/or managing general liability and automobile tort claimsExperience managing property and property catastrophe related claims is an assetPrevious claims knowledge and experience with reinsurance contracts and programs is an assetA college diploma or an equivalent level of education is requiredChartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an assetExcellent communications skills both written and oralExceptional attention to detailThe ability to provide exceptional customer service and build relationshipsThe ability to problem solve, compare data, and input from a variety of sources, identify trends, and appropriate conclusionsAn active team player who proactively collaborates with othersWhat’s in it for you?Flexible hybrid work environment, which balances remote and in-office workA comprehensive wellness plan, including personalized health coaching, fitness classes, and access to an on-site gymOngoing professional development opportunities, such as paid education, training, certifications, mentorship programs, and personalized career development plansPaid volunteer day to give back to your communityIn addition to our competitive salary, employees also receive exceptional employer-paid benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, and more to support their futureHow to ApplyVisit our website and complete our Employment Application found on our Careers page.Farm Mutual Re is committed to creating an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment for all.
