 About The Role:
 The role of the H&S Advisor is to provide subject matter expertise and drive consistent application of policy, standards, procedures at the field level. An H&S Advisor is a role model advancing the H&S strategy and providing expertise and direction to the business. Building and maintaining strong team focused relationships is critical to the success of this position.
 
 Responsibilities:
 
• Provide direct support to Client execution teams regarding the interpretation of applicable OHS Legislation, Industry standards & practices, Client H&S program components and worker training requirements.
 
• Able to speak with authority and coach on Client programs, processes and standards.
 
• Assist in the implementation of the Client strategy and direction and goal alignment with the organization's priorities.
 
• Participating in the review of project specific safety documents and associated contractor performance meetings.
 
• Ensure H&S planning is in line with the Client business strategy and growth plans.
 
• Coach, influence, motivate and empower others (internally and externally) with regards to H&S ownership.
 
• Communicate relevant and timely H&S information to the right stakeholders.
 
• Steward safe performance the Client Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS) and related H&S requirements.
 
• Assist in building and sustaining H&S capability platform tailored to business needs for field operations.
 
• Collaborate within the organization to share best practice, lessons learnt and improve knowledge management.
 
• Stay abreast of emerging H&S issues and legislation. Keep the respective assets updated with relevant requirements and assist with compliance to H&S legislation.
 
• Respond to requests for H&S support from field based operational teams and/or functional leaders.
 
 Qualifications:
 
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
 
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, ideally in Major Projects functions, specializing in the H&S Occupation.
 
• Combination of Field & Construction safety background.
 
• OH&S Education such as NCSO, CRSP or CRST.
 
• A Class 5 (non-GDL) driver's license, or equivalent, is required. (Driver's Abstract Required)
 
• Minimum 5 years performing safety audits and inspections is required.
 
• Possesses strong Health & Safety management system technical knowledge.
 
• High proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.)
 
• Prepared to gain a detailed knowledge of all Client H&S standards, policies, and procedures.
 
• Able to make decisions under tight timelines and multiple pressures.
 
• Searches for understanding and to find new and appropriate solutions.
 
• Process safety related training (PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, P&ID Interpretation) is an asset.
 
• Must be able to pass D&A and FFW testing.
 
 Schedule: 5/2, 60hrs/week
