Senior Director, Project Management

About the Role:We are seeking a Senior Director, Project Management to shape how Equiton executes its most critical strategic initiatives. This role partners closely with the CEO, President/CFO, and senior leadership team to build and embed an enterprise PMO framework, creating the foundational governance, operating discipline, and delivery standards required to support Equiton’s continued rapid business expansion.The Senior Director will bring best-in-class project management practices combined with an entrepreneurial mindset, helping Equiton scale while maintaining agility. This role is ideal for someone who has led complex, cross-functional initiatives, established enterprise-level PMO frameworks, navigated ambiguity, and operated as a trusted advisor to executives in fast-growing organizations.Key Responsibilities:Lead Strategic Projects & Establish Governance:Develop and implement firm-wide project management methodologies, frameworks, tools, and processes.Oversee planning and execution of high-impact initiatives across multiple entities ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Establish governance mechanisms for enterprise strategic initiatives, ensuring clear prioritization, approvals, risk management, budgeting, and executive-level reporting.Work with Department Leads to produce annual SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) which outline deliverables and reporting guidelines.Project Delivery:Ensure all programs and projects adhere to PMO standards, deliver expected benefits, and meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements.Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.Support escalations and remove barriers to keep critical projects on track.Serve as the key liaison between project teams, senior leadership, and departments.Facilitate effective communication channels to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.Lead regular project review meetings with internal teams and external partners.Drive continuous improvement in project methodologies and tools.Reporting & AnalyticsDeliver accurate, timely, and actionable reporting for senior leadership and key stakeholders.Create and maintain robust reporting structures for project performance, financial impact, and operational KPIs.Promote adoption of process automation, data-driven insights, and industry best practices.What you Bring:Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) or MBA preferred, or an equivalent degree in a related field Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP, or Agile/Scrum credentials (CSM, SAFe, etc.) are preferred.10+ years of experience in project or program management, including 5+ years in a leadership role.Experience managing and building enterprise-level PMO frameworks, portfolios, and cross-functional teamsStrong leadership, communication, and change management capabilities.Deep expertise in project governance, risk management, and portfolio planning.Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.High-level strategic thinking paired with strong analytical, financial, and business acumen.Work with Department Leads to produce annual Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) which outline deliverables and reporting guidelines.Predictive Index AssessmentsAs part of our hiring process, candidates complete two short assessments from Predictive Index:A Behavioural Assessment (5–10 minutes, untimed) to understand your work and communication style.A Cognitive Assessment (12-minute timed) to measure learning and problem-solving abilities.These are not tests of intelligence or experience, they simply help us understand how you work best.👉 Start the Behavioural Assessment here: After completing the first assessment, you’ll receive an email with instructions for the second assessment.About UsFounded in 2015, Equiton is one of Canada’s fastest-growing private equity firms, helping Canadians build wealth through high-quality real estate investments.
