About Us 

Fission Uranium is a growing mine development company with a head office in Kelowna, BC. The Company is developing a high-grade uranium deposit in Saskatchewan, with a second office location in Saskatoon, SK. 


Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and Company policies to prepare information for accurate and timely financial reports and statements.


Responsibilities

Quarterly financial statement and working paper preparation

Preparation and update of monthly reports including:

  • Project cost reports
  • Budgets and forecasts
  • Cash flow and working capital

Prepare and enter recurring monthly and quarterly journal entries which include, including:

  • prepaid expenses
  • property and equipment amortization
  • accruals
  • AR invoices for intercompany accounts
  • PST & GST remittances

Review output of invoice and payment batches from the Accounts Payable department

Prepare & enter payroll bank and job costing GL entry into the accounting system

Review and reconcile intercompany and clearing accounts

Other duties as required


Skills/Qualifications

  • CPA designate with 4-5 years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with Sage 300 and CaseWare would be an asset. Advanced Excel knowledge, other MS Office programs (Word, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Thorough understanding of accounting and concepts (IFRS, GST, PST).
  • Motivated, self-starter with a willingness to learn and find solutions to support a small company in growth.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to adapt to change and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
