Anesthesiology – General Anesthesiologist Health Match BC, Abbotsford Regional Hospital & Cancer Centre We are seeking two full‑time General Anesthesiologists to join our team. These vacancies have arisen due to planned increases in elective surgical volumes and staffing changes. ARHCC opened in 2008 and is a regional referral and level II trauma centre. Our group includes 15 FTE Anesthesiologists. We cover most surgeries typical of a regional hospital: General Surgery, Obstetrics (≈2,700 births per year), Gynecology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Vascular and Dental. Cardiac, Thoracic and Neurosurgery are not performed. Anesthesiologists anesthetise pediatric patients aged 4 y and over for elective slates, occasional 2‑4 y olds for emergencies and rarely provide airway assistance with neonatal intubations. Weekly schedule: 7–8 ORs for urgent and elective surgery on weekdays; 5 ORs until 15:00, 1 OR until 17:00, and after‑hours emergency surgery. 1–2 out‑of‑OR positions daily for consults, Acute Pain Service, ECT, cardioversions and emergency calls. 2–3 days per week providing anesthesia to a secondary OR in the Cancer Agency for brachytherapy (Prostate and Cervix). The successful candidates will join a departmental on‑call schedule. All qualified candidates including international medical graduates are encouraged to apply.
