Reporting to the Director IP Core and Service Delivery Data Center Networks, the Manager of IP Core Network leads a team of highly trained experts working in a DevOps mindset who are responsible for the build and ongoing life cycle, vendor technology and cost optimization of the Roger National IP Core Backbone network. This role is heavy on strategic communication and combining technology and financial acumen to ensure data-driven decisions support all IP Core network capital expenditures.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of leadership experience in managing technology deployment, vendor life-cycle management as well as technical risk assessments. This role combines a need for excellence in communication skills with financial acumen to ensure smart-spend capital compliance and alignment with Technology Risk Governance discipline.

Candidates must have the ability to attract and retain the mandatory technical resource talent pool which is essential for maintaining best in class operational support while balancing aggressive operational cost management targets.

Position Requirements:
  • Excellence in Written (PowerPoint, Excel, Data Visualization) and Presentation Skills; up to Executive Level When Necessary
  • Technical Certification on IP Technology Platforms and IP Protocols in Service Provider Deployments -Cisco/Juniper preferred
  • Security Discipline and training -must be current on industry trends/threat landscape
  • Customer Focused -Listen, Understand and Ability to Drive the Team to Overachieve
  • Demonstrated ability to take Accountability in situations of Ambiguity -Own the Problem and Execute on Resolution
  • Budget Compliance and Technology Life Cycle Cost Governance
  • Change Management Governance and ownership of any work within the Rogers National IP Core
  • Experience in Cross-Functional Interlock Relationship Development -most importantly with Network Security, Finance, Technology Audit and Procurement teams
  • Multi Vendor Contract SLA enforcement
  • Proven Conflict Resolution and Sensitivity Awareness Trained

The IP Core Manager position is an essential role within the Wireline Core Networks organization, and candidates must be prepared to work off hours in exceptional or emergency circumstances to provide leadership and support to their team as may be required.

The successful candidate knows that protecting the customer experience is just as important as the seamless deployment of new service functionality for those same customers and will not compromise on delivering best in class quality results with their team in either work stream. DevOps means owning end to end delivery and ongoing life cycle on daily basis.
