Job Purpose:

Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Nature of Duties:

  1. Monitoring and assessing process performance and enhancements through continuous improvement initiatives using “First Time Build” process design execution and reporting.
  2. Understanding the latest manufacturing techniques; implementing continuous improvement programs and striving for excellence with the use of tools such as SPC and DOE.
  3. Working on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  4. Exercising judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  5. Following standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  6. Receiving general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
  7. Defining requirements, planning, scheduling, monitoring milestones and costs, and working to remove barriers to project success.
  8. Taking ownership for processes under own control and performing qualification on new processes being introduced.
  9. Implementing engineering changes and defining and setting up product routing and SFDC.
  10. Performing time studies and managing the BOM and allocations.

Education and Experience:

Generally requires a University degree in Science or Engineering. Typically requires a minimum of 2 years’ related experience.
