Role Summary

The Software Developer is responsible for making high level software architecture and system design decisions and set medium to long-term strategy for the company.  The Developer oversees the design team for agile development for delivery of production and technical improvements. Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

 They are responsible for Development in .net framework, c#, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms while providing experience in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, designing in compliance with specifications and delivery. This is an in-person position with the flexibility to work a couple of days remotely a week. 

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Equivalent to completion of University, Community College or specialized courses up to 2 academic years.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, implementing and administration of relational databases and analysis, design and implementation of applications in a GUI environment.
  3. A background in successful project management.
  4. Experienced with the following:
    • System Design and Integration
    • Agile and non-agile processes
    • Solutions Architect
    • Microsoft full stack technologies
    • Cloud Services
    • .Net/application development
  1. A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, in the automotive industry.
  2. Good knowledge of current information technology industry directions.
  3. Must possess time management, leadership, communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Actively involved in helping our company achieve strategic goals and continuous improvement objectives as outlined in the Business Plan.
  2. Responsible for making high level software architecture and system design decisions and set medium to long term strategies.
  3. Experiment with creative solutions and new technologies to create exceptional customer experiences.
  4. Set best practices and contribute to standards of technical documentation to maintain commitment to building scalable systems that are reviewed with the team on a regular basis.
  5. Technical lead for agile development team ensuring the delivery of product and technical improvements.
  6. Help guide in product ideas by providing feasibility and creative technical solutions.
  7. Proactively identify and address gaps or areas of improvement in development and testing.
  8. Development in .net framework, C#, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms while providing experience in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, and designing in compliance with specifications and delivery.
  9. Work in a team environment and mentor junior team members.
  10.  participates in training programs as required.

RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

 The Developer will develop application from end to end, including microservice architecture. The Developer Helps guide product ideas by providing feasibility and creative technical solutions. This position is very dynamic, with respect to its focus, with the requirement to prioritize constantly.  It is expected that this position “lead by example” with respect to motivating staff, and facilitating change.  The Developer works in an office environment but may be exposed to some elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant.
