The Measures and Risk Analyst serves as a ministry-wide expert on performance measurement and risk management and has a key role in communicating the organization's performance through public reporting. The position is relied on by senior and executive management across the Ministry for expertise, guidance, and advice in the area of performance measurement and risk management.
The Analyst:
Provides credible, understandable and actionable performance data, performance expertise for the Ministry in a way that helps senior leadership, elected officials and the public understand how we’re doing as an organization. Develops recommendations for the Ministry’s suite of public performance measures and leads regular review and improvement exercises. Collaborates with colleagues across the department, using critical thinking, sound research methodologies and data analysis to develop public facing performance measures, internal metrics and other related reporting. Develops internal metrics for program and policy initiatives, working collaboratively with subject matter experts and maintains risk registers, develops corporate risk monitoring and reporting processes, and designs tools and resources to build the organization’s capacity. Collaborates with the team and with colleagues across the department to develop public facing business plans and annual reports that meet the needs of legislators and the public. Provides consultation, advice, expertise and recommendations to executives, management and staff across the ministry in the areas of performance measurement and risk management. Establishes and maintains relationships within the department and with Government of Alberta representatives and partners.-
