About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Palliative Care Physician to join our multidisciplinary team at Burnaby Hospital. As a Palliative Care Physician, you will provide clinical service and work alongside other physicians to provide Most Responsible Provider (MRP) coverage in our Palliative Complex Care Unit (PCCU) and consultation services to acute care and community-based patients.

About the Team

Our team provides integrated, regional, comprehensive palliative care services in a number of settings, including 30 Palliative Complex Care Unit (PCCU) beds, consult services in 12 acute care sites, and support to 126 hospice beds. We also provide under-graduate and post-graduate teaching in affiliation with the Division of Palliative Care at the University of British Columbia.

Burnaby Hospital is a 286-bed hospital offering a full range of primary and secondary acute care services, as well as a number of specialized services. The hospital is currently undergoing a two-phase redevelopment that will transform it into a modernized medical and surgical healthcare campus.

Requirements
  • Certification from either the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Eligibility for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have completed additional training in Palliative Medicine
What We Offer

Remuneration is by service contract at a rate set provincially by the Ministry of Health. Alternative Payment Plan, May be eligible for up to $10,000 relocation reimbursement, MOCAP - On Call Payments
