Job Summary:
This professional nursing position will work in collaboration with team members across various aspects of the surgical services program within the facility and has responsibility to provide complete nursing care in the Operating Room and the Recovery Room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operating Room and Recovery Room.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Conduct thorough health assessments and provide individualized care to patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current registration with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Two years current operating room experience (within the last 5 years).
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current Health Assessment certification or must be willing to complete next available course.
- Completion of a comprehensive recognized peri-operative nursing course.
- Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL Health Services: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE).
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
- A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in peri-operative nursing.
