About the Role
- Lead a technical team to develop and deliver high-quality solutions to customers
- Nurture talent, develop and advocate best engineering practices
- Provide guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency
- Contribute to the evolution of the software development discipline in a lean/Agile environment
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other partners to achieve business outcomes
Responsibilities
- Lead main business outcomes and initiatives
- Promote best engineering practices and coordination among teams
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other partners to achieve business outcomes
- Inspire, motivate and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency
- Mentor team members to develop their careers and achieve individual success
- Hire and develop top engineering talent
- Enhance engineering efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement
- Manage uncertainty and help teams navigate through it
- Promote customer-centricity and engineering excellence in teams
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in developing cloud-scale and server applications and services
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing cross-functional development teams
- 3+ years of experience managing other managers, leads, senior developers and architects
- Experience leading teams developing large, scalable, available and resilient cloud data systems
- Experience building API strategy and API strategy
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Exposure to compute platforms and large-scale cloud compute systems
- Experience hiring talented developers and setting up teams for success
- Experience managing geo-distributed teams across different time zones
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
