About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Community Outreach Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. This is a permanent part-time position, working 60% of full-time hours, with a focus on providing clinical services to adults and their families affected by mental illness and/or substance use or gambling disorder.

The successful candidate will work in both clinic and community settings, providing a range of services including screening, assessment, brief intervention, case management/navigation, individual and group treatment. This role requires a high degree of independent practice, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to implement an evidence-based plan of care.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Social Work degree, be registered or eligible for registration with a professional regulatory body, and have one year of post-BSW clinical experience in Mental Health and Addictions. They will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships.

About You

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about the DSM, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented practice, with the ability to navigate and de-escalate situations and offer crisis support.

They will also possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound and reliable clinical decisions. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent part-time position, working 60% of full-time hours, with a salary of $42.01 per hour.
