OVERVIEW

Join the Canada Yogurt team and help grow Canadians' love of yogurt We're seeking an R&D technician to support innovation, renovation and HMM projects on Canada Yogurt based at Saint Hyacinthe, QC. You will work on a variety of Yoplait adult and kid products at all stages of development from early prototyping to manufacturing scale-up.

This role will require strong technical skills, critical problem-solving skill, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-location team in the US and Canada. You will build partnerships with a passionate, highly engaged cross-functional team and develop technical expertise on our yogurt portfolio.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design, coordinate and execute experiments: bench top and full scale manufacturing including consumer testing; analyze experimental data and extract learningBuild and leverage internal and external network (i.e. manufacturing facilities, suppliers) to support and execute work; will lead and own portions of work on projectsProvide broad support to a specific project, and also support other Canada yogurt RD team membersConnect and collaborate within cross functional teamsCreate product formulations, specifications, and documentation in GMI systems (gPLM, Eclips, ELN)Sample analysis for analytical, shelf-life, and sensory evaluationLead plant trials and start up in manufacturing environments.Development, procurement, management, and shipment of materialsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS2 year degree or High School Diploma with 3-5 years of directly relatable experienceAbility to travel to the US and other regions within CanadaBasic computer/technology skills (Office Suite, other computer programs)Comfortable in processing (plant) environmentBasic understanding of food safety and human safetyStrong problem-solving skills& bias for actionAbility to communicate effectively and contribute to a team environmentAgile, ability to flex across teams within the platform as work needs shiftEffectively manage multiple projects as various stages of feasibility and developmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious work experience in a similar field (Food product development experience/Laboratory experience)Strong aptitude for technology; highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsInterpersonal ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization to advance your workProven work record of attendance and performanceAbility to assess and solve technical/mechanical problemsEffectively manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities.Experience working with global teamsADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONSApplicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada General Mills will not sponsor applicants for a Canada work visa.Relocation support will not be offered to applicants within Canada.International relocation or international remote working arrangements will not be considered.General Mills is committed to Employment Equity and encourages applications from all qualified candidates.
