Purpose:

The Associate, GBM Onboarding Canada plays a critical role in the bank's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance efforts. This position manages a team of Analysts responsible for onboarding customers to GBM, ensuring compliance with Enterprise-Wide and local onboarding standards, including regulatory requirements and bank-driven due diligence measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Associate Director in ensuring the Bank's compliance with regulatory obligations and risk measures.
  • Manage a team to facilitate the onboarding of GBM Canada clients in an efficient, compliant, and client-centric manner.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and regular feedback to analysts, focusing on personal and professional development.
  • Facilitate training and/or improvements to guidance, procedures, processes, and technology.
  • Prioritize requests for information, establish response times, and escalate requests as required.
  • Prepare and escalate High-Risk, PEP, and sanctions-related relationships with supporting documents to internal stakeholders for review.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Act as an AML subject matter expert to the business and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform ad-hoc, special, and/or focused data analytics as necessary, as well as other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience in financial services and/or KYC/AML/ATF.
  • University degree in business, finance, law, or other relevant field.
  • Cash management and/or retail business experience or Capital Markets Regulation experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office and experience in data analytics.
  • Knowledge of current and anticipated regulatory frameworks impacting client onboarding.
  • Understanding of global banking and capital markets business.
