**About the Role**

The City of Kelowna is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Director to join our Senior Leadership Team. As the Director of Human Resources, you will oversee the planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of the human resources and safety functions for the City of Kelowna.


**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide strategic leadership and advice to the Senior Leadership Team on all human resources and safety matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Foster a positive and respectful work environment that supports the City of Kelowna's vision, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Lead collective bargaining and oversee labour relations within a large complex organization.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the City's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.


**Requirements**

  • Post-secondary degree in a related discipline and CPHR or SHRM designation is an asset.
  • 7 years of progressively responsible HR management experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior managerial capacity.
  • Experience within a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership at a senior management level.
  • Knowledge of labour, employment, and human rights legislation and all areas of HR practices.
