Job Summary

The Senior SMR Mechanical Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving the development of Mechanical Nuclear Island Support Systems (MNISS) for the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design. This technical position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to integrate processes that meet business needs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the management of refueling outage execution, ensuring the safest, most efficient, and most economical approach possible.
  • Develop outage tooling specifications and fabrication drawings, while also responsible for PEng stamping of outage tooling as required.
  • Plan and develop technical and management processes to improve team and customer productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to complete tasks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the Licensing organization with regulatory-related deliverables and provide liaison services to customers as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in an engineering role.
  • Canadian PE Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Eligibility

Minimum in-person attendance of 2 days per week in the Markham, ON office.

GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
