**Registered Nurse - Post Anaesthetic Care Unit**
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthetics in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background in the designated clinical area, with proficiency in initiating and maintaining Intravenous Therapy. They will be able to assess, plan, and provide nursing care to patients, while communicating effectively with the interprofessional care team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Assess post anaesthetic patients by collecting and evaluating information from various sources
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to address critical care needs
• Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues
• Coordinate nursing care for patients, prioritizing tasks and delegating to support staff as needed
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, advocating for their rights and autonomy
**Qualifications:**
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• One (1) year's recent relevant clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area
**Skills and Abilities:**
• Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area
• Proficiency in initiating and maintaining Intravenous Therapy
• Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and apply nursing theory and expertise to provide nursing care
• Ability to recognize acuity changes and determine emergency situations
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
