**Job Description:**

The Social Worker will provide services and supports that promote the Okanagan Indian Band's community health and wellness vision and plan. Under the direction of the Health Programs, Integrated Care Manager, the Social Worker will be responsible for developing and delivering services to community members with a focus on enhancing mental health and working with families to prevent crisis.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Provide crisis intervention and be available for some after-hours calls
• Understand the Child, Family and Community Service Act and other relevant legislation
• Assist individuals and families to navigate government services
• Liaise and consult with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other social service agencies
• Administer mental health-related assessments as appropriate
• Maintain a basic knowledge of psychotropic medications as prescribed by a physician
• Maintain appropriate client and administrative records
• Work in a collaborative team environment to ensure effective, efficient, and accountable delivery of service
• Promote and maintain working relationships with community partners
• Develop and deliver psychoeducational workshops to OKIB staff, clients, and their families
• Comply with code of ethics in respect to professional designation and relevant legislation
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the OKIB policies and procedures

**Requirements:**

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant profession, Social Work preferred
• Eligible for BC registration with relevant professional discipline
• Two years of relevant experience
• Experience working in First Nations Communities
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Valid BC Driver's License, Class 5 and reliable vehicle
• Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain
