Responsibilities
  • Assist in sample triaging, accessioning, and processing of specimens
  • Perform phlebotomies according to departmental policy
  • Maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards
  • Perform basic routine procedures according to established protocols
Requirements
  • Completed Grade 12 or equivalent, Manitoba Standards
  • Previous related experience preferred
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification preferred
  • Windows computer environment required
  • Microsoft Office programs preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Sterile techniques and routine practices preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position
