About the Role:

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Courtesy Clerk to join our team. As a Courtesy Clerk, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Safeway's programs
  • Wrap and place merchandise in bags/carts
  • Ensure cleanliness of the store's front end
  • Collect and return shopping carts
  • Return store product
  • Perform grocery carry outs for customers
  • Sweep floors
  • Perform price checks as required

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
  • Possess strong customer service qualities
  • Works in a safe and responsible manner
  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting of up to 10-30 pounds
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
  • Constant walking, reaching, and balancing
  • Frequent hand coordination, standing, bending, pushing, or pulling
  • Occasionally working outside in variable conditions
