Perform daily personal care, welfare, and safety needs of residents in a manner that respects their dignity and promotes a maximum quality of life.

As a member of an interdisciplinary resident care team, work with residents and families to uphold the mission, vision, and value statement of the Home.

Perform all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Job Overview

As a Health Care Aide, you will provide care and support to residents in a long-term care setting. This includes assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting a safe and comfortable environment.

You will work as part of a team to provide comprehensive care to residents, including those with dementia and other complex needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to residents
  • Assisting with mobility and transfers
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in resident condition
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • A Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized educational institution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to provide care and support to residents with complex needs
Working Conditions

  • Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and transfer residents
  • Ability to work in a team environment
