Job Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for acting as a point of contact for existing small- to mid-sized customers not represented by a CN Account Manager. The incumbent manages all commercial aspects of the customer portfolio and cross-sells the full suite of CN transportation services. The position is the first CN contact for customer inquiries related to transportation solutions, and provides guidance on the optimal transportation solution. The role uses Customer Interaction Client (CIC) tool, and manages the Inside Sales queue in a timely fashion to offer first-class customer service while driving sustainable revenue growth.

Main Responsibilities Customer Satisfaction and Interactions

· Respond promptly to customer emails for CN direct lanes

· Ask questions to determine the most appropriate transportation solution

· Sell full suite of CN services (e.g. Carload, Intermodal and Customs brokerage)

· Prospect new customers and assist them in the registration process

· Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction

· Build a portfolio of customers after first 3 months

· Lead customer contract negotiations

· Work with various internal CN stakeholders to develop solutions for customers

Salesforce Compliance

· Enter all sales opportunities in Salesforce as they come in

· Follow up with customers after sending rate proposals

· Maintain accurate opportunity pipeline to reflect realistic business potential or CN

· Maintain customer and contact information up to date

Supply Chain Sales Support

· Offer assistance to Supply Chain Sales Account Manager as required when not able to respond to customer to ensure CN offers impeccable customer service

· Provide training to new hires

Administrative Tasks and Safety

· Edit weekly and monthly reports

· Document safety incidents in customer relationship management (CRM) and coordinate meetings with customers and CN operations

· Coordinate with Marketing to reduce unrated waybills and disputes

· Perform data mining and prospecting activities

· Ensure timely renewals of publications

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a hybrid workweek with 3 days at the office. The role requires minimal travel (10%).

Requirements Experience

Sales - Business to business (B2B)

· Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience

o Sales in Business to Business (B2B) experience*

o Experience in supply chain logistics

o Experience in customer service

o Experience in social media

Education/Certification/Designation

· Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent

· Master's degree in Commerce, Marketing, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent*
