The Opportunity

This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care division. As the successful candidate, you'll have the chance to apply your mechanical engineering skills and work with an experienced mechanical engineer in the R&D Systems Engineering group.

Other responsibilities include:

Perform tolerance stack analyses to evaluate the fit and function of variable features and dimensions of the assembled i-STAT cartridges using Enventivea

Work with subject matter experts to document design failure mode and effects analyses (Design FMEA) for the assembled i-STAT cartridges

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Required Qualifications

Ability to use solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) software to create parts, assemblies, and drawings.

Ability to apply analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.

Self-directed, proactive and not easily discouraged.

Propensity to continuous learning and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to use SolidWorks to create parts, assemblies, and drawings.

Familiarity with Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as per the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standard Y

Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma or Six Sigma methods and tools
