Job Summary:The Primary Care Assistant will be responsible for managing client records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a safe and respectful work environment. You will work closely with our healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care and support the delivery of our Primary Care Program.
Responsibilities:- Manage client records and maintain accurate and up-to-date information
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient care
- Provide administrative support to the healthcare team
- Maintain a safe and respectful work environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
- Minimum of two years related healthcare experience
- Experience in email and computerized calendars
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience maintaining medical records and filing systems
- Switchboard/receptionist experience
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required
- Successful completion of a Unit Clerk Course and/or a Medical Office Assistant Course required
- Keyboarding Speed of 40 wpm required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
- Cultural Safety preferred
- Mental Health First Aid preferred
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training preferred
- Must be able to do moderate lifting and a moderate amount of walking
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-moving environment with frequent interruptions

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
