Job Summary:
Halifax Water is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pumping Station Maintenance Person to join our team in the Wastewater and Stormwater Services Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and emergency repair and maintenance of sewage pumping stations and related infrastructure.
- Operate a variety of equipment and tools in a safe manner.
- Work in all weather conditions, inside and outside, and in noisy spaces, confined spaces, etc.
- Be subject to emergency call-ins after working hours.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Completion of a minimum one-year technical diploma (e.g., Industrial Mechanical, Power Engineering, Marine Engineering, Auto Mechanical).
- A valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Drivers' license.
- Two years of experience working in a similar environment, working with pumps/motors/controls, and with similar equipment and tools.
- Obtain certification through Nova Scotia Environment within 6 months of hire as an Operator-in-Training.
