About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Transition Line (Specialty Nursing) department at Burnaby Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will have the opportunity to consolidate your skills and knowledge in a specialty nursing unit, while also contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from a variety of sources to make informed nursing decisions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and well-being.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of the applicable post-graduate specialty nursing course/program and/or willingness to complete the applicable post-graduate specialty nursing courses/program.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety interventions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams using verbal, written, and electronic communication means.
- Ability to promote person-centered care that demonstrates empathy, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, and patient advocacy.
- Ability to integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively.
- Ability to teach and instruct patients and families about topics essential to their health care and well-being.
