Respiratory Therapists are sought to manage mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management in a hospital setting, delivering oxygen and aerosolized medications, and performing pulmonary diagnostic testing.

About the Role

Respiratory Therapists have the responsibility for the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management in all areas of the institution. They deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gasses, aerosolized medications and high humidity therapies. They also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing.

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Must hold/maintain registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
  • Must hold/maintain certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels
  • Travel to other sites may be required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Effective planning, organizing and supervising abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation
  • Permanent, Full-Time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • $40.66 Hourly
